“I am a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner for 3 years, specializing in Nephrology. I was a registered nurse for 10 years, where I worked in an outpatient hemodialysis clinic, an inpatient medical surgical unit and a clinical decisions unit. I am currently working on my Doctorate in Nursing at Stony Brook University. While working as a dialysis nurse, I found that there was a lot more to learn in the field of Nephrology and I was very interested in gaining more knowledge. I was given the opportunity to work with the physicians at Prine, rounding at the hospitals and at outpatient dialysis facilities. I am now also part of the care managers team. I aim to help patients achieve their health care needs and goals whether it be in the inpatient or outpatient setting. I believe that building trust, showing compassion and keeping an individuals needs a priority is important in patient care. Providing constant education and follow up care can help patients achieve greater well being and most importantly having them feel that someone is willing to help and care for them. It is important that patients get the individual attention they need in order to help them achieve their goals, and I always try to help them in any way possible. I enjoy following my patients closely and having a relationship where they feel comfortable to discuss any questions or concerns. I feel very proud to work and collaborate with a great group of care managers.”
